James Probert

At Hymaïa, James currently holds the position of Analytics Engineer, where he builds advanced analytics tools designed to optimize business teams' decision-making processes. Since June 2023, he has been using technologies such as SQL, Power BI and other solutions to structure and visualize data. Working in Paris in a hybrid environment, he works closely with colleagues to maximize the impact of data across the organization.

Previously, James worked for nearly five years at Verisure Securitas Direct, where he started as a Data Analyst before joining the data engineering team. His career was marked by a successful transition from a Business Objects system to a standalone data warehouse, and then to a full Azure stack integrated with Power BI. He also led the creation of numerous internal dashboards and took part in strategic projects supporting business teams. As an engineer, he honed his skills in data extraction and loading (ELT), using Python and Azure Data Factory to optimize data pipelines.

Before that, James was an FP&A Analyst at the Casual Dining Group in London, where he produced and optimized a wide range of regular and strategic financial reports. He was also responsible for the central Cognos financial analysis system, which he managed to meet the needs of finance and operations teams. This experience strengthened his skills in financial reporting and strategic analysis.

His expertise in data analysis was developed at The Treatment Network Ltd, where he worked as a Data Analyst. For nearly three years, he produced various reports for senior stakeholders, ranging from executive committee members to FTSE 100 clients. He also designed bespoke solutions to meet the specific needs of different users.

James began his career in 2014 as Accounts and Administration Manager at Probert Legal Limited in Exeter, where he was responsible for managing and overseeing the company's accounts.

His career reflects a mastery of business intelligence tools such as Power BI and Cognos, as well as deep database skills with SQL, Azure Data Factory and Python. He has significant experience in data modeling, strategic reporting and decision intelligence, making him a versatile and innovative expert in the data field.
