Alfonso Carta is a seasoned Senior Data Manager, bringing his expertise to the Demand Planning and Assortment department within Decathlon's supply chain. He currently serves as Senior Data Manager, leading the Data team (AI and Advanced Analytics) for this department, playing a key role in managing and optimizing demand planning and assortment processes.
Previously, Alfonso held the position of Data Science Manager & AI Lab Leader at Decathlon, where he led the AI lab team tasked with uncovering the most relevant AI use cases and ensuring they had the right digital tools to be effective. He also gained valuable experience as a Lead Data Scientist, where he helped ensure data privacy and reliability while leading high-level analytics projects.
Before joining Decathlon, Alfonso worked as a Data Scientist at Amadeus IT Group, where he used various Big Data technologies such as Apache Hadoop, MapReduce and Spark to carry out in-depth analyses. His background also includes a PhD in modeling, analysis and control for systems biology, reflecting his strong academic foundation and commitment to innovation and research.
